Description
The Safariland Comp II is a push-button speedloader built for revolver shooters who need reliable, fast reloads under pressure — whether at a match, on the range, or in a carry context. It fits the Colt Match and Officer’s revolvers chambered in .38 Special and .357 Magnum, covering both cartridge lengths within that cylinder diameter range without requiring the shooter to swap gear between practice and match day.
The push-button release mechanism is the defining trade-off of the Comp II design. Compared to the twist-knob style found on the Comp I, a push-button system lets the shooter drop rounds into the cylinder and release them with a single straight-in motion rather than a combined press-and-rotate. That removes one mechanical step from the reload sequence, which matters when time or stress is a factor. The loader seats against the cylinder and dumps all six rounds simultaneously on button press.
Construction is injection-molded polymer throughout, keeping weight low so the loader sits cleanly in a pocket or speedloader pouch without printing noticeably. The rounds are retained securely until release — there is no ambiguity about whether the loader has seated before you press — and the black finish is consistent with Safariland’s standard production color for this model. At six rounds, the Comp II matches the cylinder capacity of the revolvers it is designed for, so every reload is a complete top-off.
