CNC-machined 6061 aluminum reproduction of the discontinued S&W PPC/TSW flared magwell. Mounts like the factory original, fits full-size 3rd Gen double stack frames, and machined with extra corner material for a clean blend into the frame.
Description
Smith & Wesson released the flared magwell in the late 1990s on the PPC line, and the part was built for competition guns only. Once those pistols hit the secondary market, shooters found the magwell could be fitted to any standard full-size Smith & Wesson double stack frame. Factory supply ran out years ago. This is the replacement.
We CNC-machine ours from 6061 bare aluminum. Mounting is identical to the vintage part, so anything you know about fitting the original carries straight over. Two changes matter for the builder. We opened up the tolerances to absorb frame-to-frame variance, which makes fitting far easier and brings early 3rd Gen frames back into play. We also cut the corners wider and deeper, so you have real material to work with when blending the magwell into the frame. The small overhangs left behind by the factory setup are gone.
