Description

The SOLGW x Forward Controls Design LRF is a stripped billet lower receiver built for shooters who want a foundation that handles hard use without accommodating compromise. Machined from solid billet aluminum and finished in a black anodization that resists glare and surface wear, it accepts standard AR-15 lower parts kits while incorporating proprietary hardware for the ambidextrous bolt release — meaning you can run the controls from either side without adding aftermarket parts afterward.

The generously flared magwell is a deliberate ergonomic choice: the funnel geometry guides magazines during reloads under stress or degraded conditions, where a standard magwell demands more precision from your support hand. Aftermarket magazine funnels are unlikely to fit because the well is already enlarged beyond standard dimensions. The enlarged trigger pocket removes material behind the magwell, which creates additional clearance for larger trigger group housings and slightly reduces overall weight.

The 2025 revision addresses fitment across a range of upper receivers. The enlarged receiver extension support ring creates a tighter, more consistent junction at the buffer tube, and tightened receiver lug tolerances reduce slop when mating to different uppers. The modified beavertail broadens compatibility with aftermarket pistol grips that have a wider tang footprint. Beveled selector stops more closely mirror the geometry of standard forged lowers, so selector feel is familiar rather than foreign. A bolt catch roll pin relief cut makes roll pin removal straightforward when changing bolt catches — a small detail that matters during a parts swap in the field. The left side carries SOLGW’s Rebellious Stripes design; the right side bears the FCD Cygnus logo.
