Description

The Liberty Charging Handle from Sons of Liberty Gun Works is built for shooters who run suppressors regularly or operate in environments where a standard charging handle becomes a liability. The core engineering decision here is the raised rear lip, which creates a seal against the back of the upper receiver and redirects gas during suppressed fire rather than letting it vent toward the shooter’s face. That single feature makes the LCH meaningfully different in function from a mil-spec handle, not just in appearance.

This is the Narrow Latch version, which matches a standard USGI charging handle at 2.17 inches wide. The standard LCH runs 0.2 inches wider, which suits shooters who want maximum purchase on the latch but can conflict with low-profile optics mounted close to the receiver or catch on plate carriers and chest rigs during dynamic movement. If your optic sits low or your kit is bulky, the narrower latch profile removes that potential interference without giving up the gas-sealing geometry or the ambidextrous function.

Both latches move independently, so you can run the same fluid motion from either side without having to accommodate a dominant-hand bias into your administrative and malfunction drills. The latch geometry is also shaped to avoid snagging on gear during sling transitions or when the rifle is carried muzzle-down.

The body is machined from 7075 aluminum and finished to Mil-Spec Hard Coat Type III anodize standards, which puts it in the same hardness class as the upper receiver it rides in. At 0.19 lbs it adds negligible weight to the build.
