The Sons of Liberty Gun Works Loyal 9 A5 Receiver Extension is built for shooters who want precise length-of-pull adjustment and compatibility with the heavier buffer systems the standard carbine tube cannot accommodate. Where a mil-spec carbine tube offers six positions, this extension provides nine, giving you a meaningfully wider range of adjustment without having to swap tubes when fitting the rifle to different shooters or different kit configurations.

The A5 designation means the tube is dimensioned for use with the VLTOR A5 and BCM T-Series buffer systems rather than a standard carbine buffer. That matters because A5-compatible buffers are longer and heavier, and that additional mass slows the bolt carrier’s rearward travel. The result is a smoother, more controlled operating cycle — particularly relevant on shorter-barreled builds where higher-pressure gas timing can otherwise drive the carrier back aggressively. If you are running an A5 buffer system, the geometry of this tube is what makes that system work correctly.

Construction is impact-extruded 7075-T6 aluminum, which keeps weight down while maintaining the structural integrity needed to handle cycling forces reliably. The exterior carries a black anodized finish for corrosion resistance, and the interior bore is treated with dry film lubricant to reduce friction against the buffer during its travel. Two drain holes in the rearmost positions allow water to exit when the rifle is used in wet environments or submerged — a practical consideration for any serious field application. At roughly two ounces, it adds minimal weight to the lower assembly.
