Description

The Strike Industries ARCH-EL is a drop-in charging handle for standard AR-15 uppers, built for shooters who want a more positive grip during manipulations without adding a large ambidextrous lever to their setup. The extended latch gives your fingers more surface area to work with, which matters most when drawing rearward under stress, when running the gun in heavy gloves, or when you need to clear a malfunction quickly and cleanly.

The latch itself is aluminum rather than the steel latch found on mil-spec handles. That choice has a real consequence: aluminum is softer than the aluminum upper receiver it contacts, so over a long service life it tends to wear itself before it wears the receiver. The tradeoff is that the latch will eventually show more wear than a steel one would, but the receiver — the more expensive and harder-to-replace part — comes out ahead. The body is forged from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in red hardcoat anodizing, which gives the handle a hard, corrosion-resistant surface. The polished latch face reduces friction through the charging stroke.

Installation requires no gunsmithing — the handle seats into any standard mil-spec AR-15 upper receiver the same way a factory unit does. The extended latch coexists with a traditional concealed latch design, so the handle still functions normally when grasped from the center rather than the side. The red hardcoat finish also makes this a practical choice for builds where color-coding rifles by caliber or role is part of the workflow.
