Description
The Gridlok LITE is Strike Industries’ stripped-down take on their original Gridlok handguard, built for AR-15 shooters who want a free-float setup with tool-free removal and don’t need the added complexity of a full modular color-swap system. The design consolidates features that would otherwise require separate accessories, which keeps the parts count low and the weight down.
The one-piece body is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, a material choice that balances machinability with corrosion resistance for a handguard expected to take field wear. The barrel nut steps up to 7000-series aluminum, a harder alloy that handles the clamping and torque loads at the receiver interface without requiring a steel nut and the weight that comes with it. The patent-pending Quick Rail system uses a lever-actuated latch rather than a wrench, so the handguard can be pulled when you need access to a suppressor piston, gas block, or anything else under the rail without a tool in your kit.
A front-mounted flip-up backup iron sight is integrated into the rail body itself, eliminating a separate purchase and the extra weight of a standalone BUIS tower. At the rear, a 360-degree free-swivel QD socket lets a sling attachment point rotate with shooter movement rather than binding against the rail. M-LOK slots run at the 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 11 o’clock positions, covering the practical mounting positions for lights, grips, and other accessories. The front opening accommodates suppressors and muzzle devices up to 1.57 inches in diameter, which covers most mid-bore and large-bore suppressor bodies running flush with or forward of the muzzle. The 11-inch length is finished in hardcoat anodized black.
