Description

The KE2-T is a replacement head for M600U, M640U, and M640T Scout Light platforms, designed for shooters who need to push positive identification further downrange than a standard flood or wide-beam head allows. The defining design choice here is the turbo reflector, which trades breadth of spill for a tightly concentrated beam column. That geometry puts the available output to work at distance rather than spreading it across the near field — a meaningful difference when you need to read a threat at the far end of a structure or across an open space rather than simply illuminate a few meters ahead.

Driving that beam is an LED rated at 700 lumens and 70,000 candela peak intensity, running on two CR123A batteries in a 6-volt configuration. The candela figure matters more than lumens here — candela measures the concentrated punch of the beam at a point, which is what governs how far the light throws before it falls below a useful threshold. SureFire rates the effective distance at 529 meters, which reflects that focus. Runtime on a full set of batteries is 1.5 hours at the single high output level.

The body is machined from aerospace aluminum with a Mil-Spec hard-anodized finish and a tempered window, keeping the head light enough — 1.8 ounces — that it does not shift the balance of a carbine meaningfully. This Tan variant ships as part number KE2-T-TN and is not compatible with Dual Fuel Scout Light bodies.
