Shooters who run SureFire WeaponLights or LED handheld lights through heavy training schedules burn through CR123A primaries at a pace that adds up fast. The SFLFP123 two-pack is built for that context: rechargeable Lithium Iron Phosphate cells in the standard 123A form factor, sized to drop into the same lights you already own without any adapter or modification.
The chemistry matters here. Lithium Iron Phosphate operates at a nominal 3.2 volts, which keeps it within the safe operating range for LED-based illumination tools. That lower voltage is also the reason these cells are not suitable for incandescent-lamped lights — the older lamp technology depends on the higher output of a primary lithium cell, and the LFP voltage will underperform it. Stick to LED hosts and the pairing works as intended.
The trade-off worth understanding is capacity. These cells carry 450 mAh, which is meaningfully less than a SureFire 123A primary. Run time per charge will be shorter than you are used to with disposables. What you get in exchange is the ability to recharge and reuse the cells repeatedly, with the cells retaining roughly 80% of their original capacity even after hundreds of charge cycles. Over a sustained training load, that recovery curve makes the economics work in favor of the rechargeable format.
The smart charger — included with the kit variant, sold separately from the two-pack — terminates automatically when the cells reach full capacity and provides protection against overcharge, short-circuit, and reverse polarity. Two cells can be fully charged in approximately three hours. These contain no hazardous heavy metals, which simplifies disposal at end of service life.
