Description
The SureFire SOCOM556-MINI4 in Dark Earth is built for shooters who need a compact, rugged suppressor on a 5.56mm or .223 Rem host—particularly those running short-barreled rifles where heat and gas volume are most punishing. At 5.5 inches long and adding only 3 inches to the host weapon’s overall length, it keeps the package manageable without sacrificing the core engineering that makes it viable for sustained fire.
The entire suppressor is constructed from Inconel superalloy—a nickel-based material selected specifically for its resistance to the extreme heat and erosive gases generated by high-volume 5.56mm fire. SureFire combines machined components with 3D-printed aerospace-grade parts and CNC laser welding to achieve structural integrity across the whole assembly, not just at the end caps. This matters most on short barrels, which push more unburned propellant and heat into the can than a full-length rifle would.
A core design focus of the MINI4 is back pressure reduction. Conventional suppressor baffling tends to force combustion gases back into the action, which contributes to carrier tilt, increased bolt velocity, excess fouling, and gas in the shooter’s face. SureFire’s flow dynamics in this generation cut back pressure by 60% compared to conventional designs, which translates directly to a cleaner-cycling action and meaningfully less blowback gas at the shooter’s position.
The revised muzzle design serves two purposes: it improves internal gas flow to reduce flash signature from first round through sustained fire, and it reinforces the front end against physical impacts—an area prone to damage in field use. Attachment is handled by SureFire’s Fast-Attach system, which locks and releases without tools and is compatible with SureFire SOCOM open-tine flash hiders as well as existing SOCOM Fast-Attach muzzle devices already in wide circulation.
