Description

The SureFire SOCOM300-SPS is built specifically for .300 BLK carbines, and it performs best on barrels ten inches or shorter — the platform where subsonic ammunition and suppressors are most effective together. Subsonic rounds travel below the speed of sound, which removes the ballistic crack of a supersonic projectile, and the SPS is engineered around that dynamic: its V-shaped baffles are designed to maximize sound attenuation for sub-sonic loads rather than simply adapting a centerfire rifle suppressor to the task.

SureFire’s Total Signature Reduction technology addresses more than just decibel output. First-round flash — caused by unburned propellant gases igniting at the muzzle — is a persistent problem with suppressors, and the SPS’s internal venting is designed to eliminate it rather than merely reduce it. That same venting also decreases back pressure reaching the bolt carrier, which lowers cyclic rate and reduces the volume of gas that returns to the shooter’s face. The bore diameter is intentionally oversized relative to the caliber, which reduces the probability of a baffle strike if a projectile exits the muzzle with any instability — a practical concern with short-barreled platforms pushing heavy subsonic bullets.

Construction is Inconel alloy and stainless steel, CNC laser-welded throughout. Inconel handles sustained high-temperature cycling without the dimensional changes that can affect steel alone. The Cerakote finish on the body and Ionbond coating round out the corrosion and wear resistance. Attachment uses SureFire’s Fast-Attach system, compatible with their full lineup of flash hiders, compensators, and WARCOMP muzzle devices, allowing tool-free mounting and dismounting. Each unit ships with a FirstSpear MOLLE pouch and cleaning brush. Designed and manufactured in the United States.
