The Timney 49’er is a drop-in safety selector for AR-15 platform rifles built on any mil-spec lower receiver. Its defining feature is a 49-degree throw — roughly half that of a standard 90-degree selector — which means your thumb travels a much shorter arc to move between safe and fire. That shorter distance translates directly to faster manipulation without requiring a repositioning of your grip, which matters whether you are shooting a timed course or simply prefer a more ergonomic control under any conditions.
