Description

The Radian Weapons Talon-GI 45/90 Safety Selector is built for shooters who want a clean, reliable single-sided control without the bulk of an ambidextrous setup. It fits mil-spec AR-15 and AR-10 platforms and is a straightforward drop-in upgrade for anyone who finds the standard safety selector lacking in ergonomics or adjustability.

The central advantage of this design is its ability to switch between a 90-degree standard throw and a 45-degree short throw without removing the selector from the lower receiver. That means you can dial in your preferred engagement angle at the range rather than during a teardown. The short-throw 45-degree position is preferred by many competition and tactical shooters because it reduces the arc your thumb travels between fire and safe, keeping your grip more consistent through the transition.

The no-screw retention system is worth understanding: the lever seats on a dovetail cut in the shaft and is locked in place by a spring-loaded retention stud. This eliminates a common failure point — loose or backing-out lever screws — without adding tools or complexity to lever changes. The center shaft is machined from hardened steel with a black nitride finish for corrosion resistance and wear durability, while the lever itself is machined from billet aircraft aluminum and finished in Flat Dark Earth. The result is a selector that keeps its weight low where it matters most, on the lever you’re actually manipulating.
