Description

The Timney Alpha Competition is built for Glock Gen 5 large-frame shooters who want a meaningful improvement in trigger feel without sending the pistol to a gunsmith. It fits the Gen 5 versions of the Glock 20, 21, 29, 30, 40, and 41, covering the full range of large-frame models in that generation.

The core of what Timney changes is the interface between trigger and sear. The trigger bar and sear receive a Teflon Nickel coating, marketed by Timney as NP3, which reduces friction at the surfaces that matter most for a consistent, repeatable break. Where a factory Glock trigger often has a pull that stacks and resets with some ambiguity, the Alpha is designed to give a cleaner, more defined break point at a 3-pound pull weight — light enough to benefit precision shooting without abandoning the safety architecture Glock builds around its striker-fired system. The integrated blade safety is retained, so the pistol’s fundamental drop-safety behavior carries over.

The trigger shoe itself is straight aluminum with a green anodized finish. Straight triggers suit shooters who prefer a consistent finger placement shot to shot, particularly those coming from competition backgrounds where predictability across a stage matters more than a curved trigger’s perceived leverage advantage. The anodized finish identifies the unit at a glance inside the gun, which is practical when verifying configuration before a match.

Installation uses all factory Glock springs and components aside from the drop-in assembly itself, so there is no sourcing of replacement parts and no timing work involved. Basic disassembly tools and familiarity with Glock takedown are sufficient.
