Description

The Timney Alpha Competition is a drop-in trigger designed for competitive shooters running Glock Gen 5 large-frame pistols chambered in 10mm or .45 ACP. The goal is a cleaner, more consistent pull that doesn’t require rebuilding the fire control group around aftermarket springs or connectors — the trigger installs using all of the factory Glock parts and springs already in the gun, which keeps the reliability profile of the platform intact while improving the feel at the finger.

A 3-pound pull weight sits well below the factory specification, reducing the muscular effort needed to break the shot and allowing the shooter to maintain steadier sights through the trigger press. For competition use, where split times and stage placement depend on clean, repeatable inputs, that reduction in pull weight matters without the unpredictability that can come from a trigger adjusted far beyond its design parameters.

The sear and trigger bar receive a Teflon nickel coating, which reduces friction between the two surfaces without the need for additional lubrication at that interface. The trigger shoe retains an external safety blade, preserving the Glock passive safety system that the platform is built around. The Teflon Nickel finish on the internal components pairs visually with the Purple anodized safety blade — Timney calls this finish Purple, not a generic color designation. Installation is straightforward enough that a gunsmith is not required, though the trigger is intended strictly for competition use on stock Glock pistols and is not designed for modified platforms.
