Description
The Timney Alpha Competition is built for Glock shooters who want a meaningful improvement in trigger feel without rebuilding their pistol around aftermarket components. It fits Gen 3 and Gen 4 frames and works with all factory Glock parts and springs already in the gun, so the only thing changing is the trigger assembly itself.
The trigger bar and sear receive an NP3 coating — a Teflon-nickel process that reduces metal-on-metal friction at the surfaces where the pull weight is generated. On a stock Glock trigger, some of the heaviness and grittiness in the pull comes from friction at exactly those contact points. By treating them with NP3, the Alpha Competition produces a pull that is smoother through the entire stroke, not just at the break. The factory pull weight is set at three pounds, which is light enough to benefit accuracy-focused shooting while still requiring deliberate intent to fire.
The trigger shoe itself is straight aluminum with an anodized bronze finish and an integral anodized safety blade. The straight profile suits shooters who prefer a consistent finger placement across the face of the trigger rather than the curved geometry of the standard Glock shoe. Because no modifications to the frame, connector, or springs are required, the handgun’s fundamental reliability characteristics are preserved — the trigger slots into the existing mechanism rather than replacing it.
Compatibility covers a broad range of Gen 3 and Gen 4 models including the G17, G17L, G19, G22, G23, G24, G34, and G35. Installation does not require a gunsmith, though Timney recommends one if you prefer professional fitting.
