The Timney Alpha Competition pivot trigger is built for Glock shooters who want a cleaner, more consistent break without the external blade safety that sits on most aftermarket and factory Glock trigger shoes. Instead of a blade that must be depressed by the trigger finger, Timney’s design moves the safety mechanism inside the trigger body itself, using an internal pivoting safety. The result is a flat, uninterrupted trigger face — a straight aluminum shoe — that presents the same feel across the entire width of the pull, which matters for shooters who want consistent finger placement shot to shot.
The internal pivot safety still satisfies Glock’s drop-safety requirement while giving the shooter a surface that behaves more like a traditional single-stage trigger than a blade-equipped Glock shoe does. For competitors who dislike the inconsistency a blade can introduce when finger placement varies, this is the practical trade-off the design is solving. The trigger is rated at a 3-pound pull weight, which is lighter than a standard Glock factory trigger and more predictable through the break. The shoe is machined from aluminum and carries an NP3 coating — a nickel-PTFE finish that reduces friction at the contact surfaces and resists corrosion without requiring lubrication.
This part is designed to fit medium-frame, double-stack Glock pistols in Generation 3 and Generation 4 configurations. Installation requires no gunsmithing — it drops into the existing trigger housing. No permanent modifications to the frame are needed.
