The entire housing swaps in place of the factory unit, taking the magazine release with it — the Calvin Elite includes an extended magazine release, which gives more positive purchase during reloads than the standard Ruger control.

The housing and internal components are machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade billet aluminum and steel. That combination keeps weight reasonable while giving the assembly the rigidity needed to maintain consistent geometry shot to shot. The factory pull weight is set between 1.5 and 2 pounds with no creep, which is a substantial departure from the roughly 6-pound factory Ruger pull.
