Description

The Timney Lever Gun trigger is built for Marlin 336, 1894, and 1895 owners who want a meaningfully cleaner break without sending the rifle to a gunsmith or spending time fitting parts. It drops in and replaces the factory trigger assembly, which on most production Marlins of these models carries a pull that is heavy, gritty, or both — characteristics that work against the inherent accuracy the platform is capable of delivering.

Timney set the pull weight at a non-adjustable 3 to 3.5 pounds. That range is light enough to let a shooter hold through a break rather than disturb point of aim by muscling through it, but not so light that it becomes a liability in field conditions or during the rapid cycling that cowboy action shooting demands. Because the pull weight is factory-set and not user-adjustable, there is no spring kit to lose and no temptation to chase a pull so light it becomes unreliable.

The straight trigger profile matches the geometry that Marlin shooters expect from a lever gun, and the nickel finish gives it a clean look that contrasts well against blued steel or stainless metalwork. The engineering specifically addresses trigger flop — the loose, undefined feel in reset and take-up that is common in factory lever-action triggers — producing a break that is consistent from shot to shot. For a hunting application where follow-up shots on moving game matter, or a target context where group size is the measure, that consistency has a direct and practical effect on results.
