Description

The Browning X-Bolt 2 is a capable bolt-action hunting rifle, and the factory trigger is often the first thing a shooter wants to address. Timney’s replacement trigger for the X-Bolt 2 is a self-contained, drop-in unit that installs without gunsmithing and reuses the factory safety button and safety bar, so the familiar manual of arms stays intact. The pull weight is factory set at 3 lbs and is fully adjustable across a 1.5–4 lb range, which means a deer hunter who wants a heavier, more deliberate break and a prairie dog shooter who wants something lighter can both get what they need from the same trigger. That range also gives you room to fine-tune as conditions or shooting disciplines change over time, rather than committing to a fixed weight at purchase.

The sear carries an NP3 finish, a nickel-PTFE coating that reduces friction and resists corrosion without requiring lubrication to function smoothly. The trigger housing itself is built from aluminum and steel. Single-stage geometry means there is no take-up to work through before the break, so the shot fires at a consistent, predictable point in the pull stroke — a meaningful advantage when trigger time is limited or shooting positions are compromised. One functional trade-off worth knowing: installing this trigger disables the bolt lock feature that ships with the factory X-Bolt 2. For most hunting and range applications that is a non-issue, but it is worth factoring in before purchase.
