Description
The Timney CZ 457 straight-shoe trigger is built for rimfire shooters who want a clean, consistent break whether they’re hunting small game or working through a precision rimfire competition. The factory CZ 457 trigger is functional, but its sear geometry and pull weight leave meaningful accuracy on the table at range. This replacement addresses that directly.
Pull weight is adjustable from 10 ounces to 2 pounds, which covers everything from a light bench or prone position to a hunting setup where a slightly heavier pull makes sense in the field. Over-travel is also adjustable, so once you’ve found the right pull weight you can take the slack out of the reset as well. Both adjustments are held in place by Timney’s Sear Engagement Adjustment Lock — referred to as SEAL — which keeps your settings from walking under recoil or during handling.
The trigger shoe and sear are precision-machined from steel, then heat-treated to 56 Rockwell hardness. The shoe receives a black oxide coating; the sear is NP-3 coated, which is an electroless nickel and PTFE finish that reduces friction at the sear surfaces without requiring added lubrication. Timney machines every component rather than using metal injection molding or stampings, so the geometry is consistent part to part.
Installation is a drop-in replacement process on the CZ 457 platform. The trigger is covered by Timney’s lifetime warranty. Note that this is the right-hand configuration — it is not compatible with left-hand CZ 457 actions.
