TIMNEY TRIG FITS RUG 10/22(RED SHOE)

Description

The Ruger 10/22 is one of the most shot rimfire rifles on the market, and the factory trigger group is broadly considered its weakest point. Timney’s drop-in replacement addresses that directly by swapping out the entire factory unit rather than modifying individual components. The housing is CNC machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum, and the trigger, sear, and hammer are wire EDM cut from heat-treated tool steel — a process that produces very consistent geometry across parts, which is what makes a repeatable break possible in the first place.

Installation requires no gunsmithing. Remove the receiver from the stock, push out the two action pins, lift out the factory group, drop in the Timney assembly, and reinsert the pins. The unit also incorporates an extended magazine release designed for single-finger operation, and an auto bolt release is included as standard — both practical upgrades over the factory controls.

The pull weight is set at 2¾ pounds at the factory and is not user-adjustable. That fixed setting reflects a deliberate choice: factory calibration means the trigger ships ready to shoot without requiring the owner to find a balance between a clean break and reliable ignition. There is no creep in the break. For a shooter running the 10/22 for small game, competition, or precision rimfire work, the consistent, predictable release is the point — it removes a variable that the factory trigger reliably introduces.
