Description
The Timney 1100 is a replacement trigger designed for the Ruger M77 Mark II and its Hawkeye-platform descendants, including the Hawkeye, Hawkeye Guide Gun, Hawkeye Laminate Compact, Gunsite Scout, and M77 Hawkeye Magnum Hunter. It is built for right-hand actions only and is not compatible with two-stage or varmint-configuration rifles.
The trigger is constructed entirely from stainless steel, which resists corrosion in field conditions without adding coatings that can wear unevenly over time. Installation is designed as a drop-in replacement, meaning the assembly fits the existing trigger pocket without machining, though fitting to the stock inletting and safety engagement may require minor material removal from the trigger body — a task most careful shooters can manage with a file and patience.
Once installed, the trigger is adjustable for sear engagement, overtravel, and pull weight. Sear engagement adjustment lets you dial in how much — or how little — movement occurs before the sear releases, directly affecting perceived trigger crispness. Overtravel adjustment limits rearward movement after the shot breaks, which reduces the disturbance to your sight picture during the firing sequence. Pull weight is adjustable across a range that makes the trigger far lighter than the standard Ruger factory unit, giving shooters a more deliberate and consistent break without requiring a full custom trigger job. The package includes the trigger assembly, a reduced-weight sear spring, and installation instructions.
