The TriggerTech Primary is a direct drop-in replacement for the Remington 700 designed for shooters who want a cleaner, more consistent break than the factory trigger delivers — whether that’s for long-range precision work, competition, hunting, or demanding field conditions. It runs as a single-stage, meaning there’s no take-up phase: the shoe travels straight to the break with no deliberate staging point, which suits shooters who prefer a simple, predictable feel over the two-stage approach common in target rifles.

The mechanism that sets TriggerTech’s Primary apart from conventional sear designs is what the company calls Frictionless Release Technology. A standard trigger holds the firing pin sear through sliding contact between metal surfaces, which introduces static friction that can make the break feel gritty or inconsistent. TriggerTech replaces that sliding interface with a rolling contact element, eliminating the friction at the moment of release and producing what amounts to a true zero-creep break. The practical result is that the pull weight you set is the weight you feel, without the masking effect that friction ordinarily contributes.

Pull weight is adjustable from 1.5 to 4.0 pounds via a hex key from below the housing, without removing the trigger from the rifle. The CLKR adjustment system indexes the change in one-ounce increments, so you can move deliberately between settings rather than chasing a vague sweet spot. Overtravel is held under fifteen thousandths of an inch by the integrated TKR system, which limits rearward movement after the break and shortens the distance the shooter has to recover before resetting. The housing is machined from 7075 aluminum, the internal components from 440C stainless steel, and the PVD Black finish — applied through physical vapor deposition — provides a hard, corrosion-resistant surface on the external steel parts.
