Description
The Unity Tactical FAST LPVO Mount is built around a straightforward problem: standard-height scope mounts force a shooter to drop their head toward the rifle, breaking situational awareness and creating interference with headsets, night vision devices, and gas masks. The FAST addresses this by raising the optical centerline to 2.05 inches above the rail, high enough that a shooter can stay behind the gun with a more upright, heads-up posture. That geometry is not about aesthetics — it translates directly to faster reticle acquisition when your head is in a natural position rather than craned downward.
The mount is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in a Type III hardcoat anodized Flat Dark Earth. That alloy is a common choice for structural components where strength-to-weight ratio matters; the hardcoat anodizing is harder and more wear-resistant than standard anodizing, which matters on a component that gets handled and field-stripped repeatedly. Unity notes that anodizing can produce variation in shade — the finish may read as tan, bronze, or brown depending on the batch, which is normal for the process.
Beyond mounting the scope itself, the FAST LPVO accepts an optional Offset Optic Base on the underside of the mount body, letting you run a miniature red dot alongside your LPVO without adding a separate rail section to the handguard. The offset base position — forward or rearward — can be configured to clear a given scope’s turret housing. That offset red dot capability is the key reason to choose this mount over a simpler ring-and-base setup: it keeps the backup optic integrated into the mount rather than consuming rail space elsewhere.
