Description
The REKE was developed to meet a Special Operations Forces requirement for a precision rifle optic mount that works with in-line night vision devices without requiring the shooter to stack adapters or compromise their cheek weld. The 1.54-inch optical centerline is the key dimension here: it positions the scope at the height needed to run common night vision units directly in line with the optic, rather than forcing an offset or requiring the shooter to shift their head between glass and night vision.
The modular design addresses a real problem in precision rifle setups. Laser range finders, twelve o’clock micro red dot mounts, and thirty-five-degree offset MRDS or accessory mounts can all be added as mission requirements change, meaning the base mount does not become obsolete when the rest of the system evolves. Those accessories attach without removing the mount from the rifle or breaking zero.
The three cross-bolt rail clamp distributes clamping force evenly across the Picatinny rail rather than concentrating it at a single point. This matters for maintaining repeatable return-to-zero when the mount is removed and reinstalled. The body is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in Type III hardcoat anodize — the same material and finish specification common to mil-spec upper and lower receivers — which keeps weight down while providing surface hardness that resists wear at the ring and clamp interfaces over extended use.
The 34mm ring diameter suits the large main tubes found on modern precision and LPVO scopes. If your optic has a 30mm or 35mm tube, Unity Tactical offers the REKE in those sizes as well, but the construction and mounting system are identical across the family.
