Description
The Wilson Combat ACP Commander is built for shooters who want a carry-capable 1911-pattern pistol without giving up the trigger feel and hand-fit that make a full-size 1911 worth shooting in the first place. The Commander-length format puts the balance point slightly forward of a compact Officer-size frame, which steadies the muzzle during rapid strings without adding the overall length of a Government model.
The frame and slide are finished in Wilson Combat’s Armor-Tuff coating, a matte surface treatment applied over the metal that resists corrosion and abrasion without adding meaningful dimension to the slide. It is not a simple blued or parkerized finish — Armor-Tuff bonds at a lower film thickness than most spray coatings, which matters for a carry gun where holster wear is a real concern.
The grip panels are Black G10 Eagle Claw, a texture cut aggressively enough to index the hand consistently without requiring a crush grip. G10 is dimensionally stable across temperature and humidity, so the texture and fit stay the same whether the pistol comes out of a cold car or a humid range bag. The frame also receives Wilson Combat’s Eagle Claw treatment, extending that grip pattern onto the frame itself.
The ambidextrous safety accommodates left-handed shooters or anyone who practices strong-hand-only manipulations without having to source an aftermarket part. The single-action trigger is paired with a medium pad, which positions the finger at a consistent contact point for a clean, repeatable break. A Battlesight rear with a fiber-optic front gives fast daylight acquisition while keeping the rear notch wide enough for target pick-up under pressure. Two ten-round magazines are included.
