Description
The Wilson Combat ACP Full-Size is built for shooters who want a serious single-action pistol without compromise — whether that means duty carry, competition, or a range gun they expect to run hard for years. The platform draws directly from the 1911 pattern, which means every manual-of-arms habit you have already built carries over, but Wilson Combat has re-engineered the critical dimensions and component geometry to suit modern performance expectations rather than wartime production tolerances.
Single-action operation puts the trigger in the same mechanical relationship to the sear on every shot, which is why experienced shooters tend to prefer it for precision work. The trigger wall is consistent and predictable in a way that striker-fired designs approach but do not replicate. The trade-off is that it demands disciplined handling and deliberate holstering — the ambidextrous thumb safety is there to be used, and with the ACP it is accessible from either hand, which matters if you train for unconventional positions or shoot with your support side.
The five-inch barrel gives the 9mm cartridge additional dwell time compared to a commander-length build, which translates to more complete powder burn, marginally higher velocity, and a longer sight radius that makes precise shot placement more forgiving. The Battlesight rear and fiber optic front are a proven pairing for both low-light acquisition and daylight precision — the FO front draws the eye quickly while the Battlesight rear is shaped to allow one-handed slide manipulation against a belt or holster edge. Both magazines included are ten-rounders, giving you a loaded spare from the box. The frame and slide are finished in Armor-Tuff over carbon steel, and the Black G10 Eagle Claw grips provide a consistent purchase without requiring gloves.
