Description

Wilson Combat designed this free-floating M-LOK handguard for AR-15 builders and owners who want a rigid, lightweight platform without the bulk that often comes with full-length rail systems. The free-floating design means the handguard makes no contact with the barrel, so a sling, barricade, or support-hand pressure does not translate into point-of-impact shift — a practical advantage for anyone shooting from field positions or off barriers.

The body is machined from 6005A-T5 aluminum extrusion on 5-axis CNC equipment, a process that allows complex internal profiles and consistent wall thickness throughout the length of the tube. The result is a handguard that sheds weight without thinning the material at stress points. The mil-spec hard anodized finish, which Wilson Combat calls Black Anodize, is applied directly to the aluminum rather than over a paint layer, giving it better resistance to wear at contact surfaces than a spray-applied coating would provide.

The barrel attachment nut is nitrocarburized 4130 steel — a material choice that manages heat at the interface between handguard and barrel extension, where sustained fire concentrates thermal stress. An internal diameter of 1.350 inches keeps the handguard clear of most low-profile gas blocks, so there is no need to set the block below standard height or source a specialty part. M-LOK slots at the six, nine, and twelve o’clock positions accept any M-LOK-compatible accessory across the industry. Wilson Combat also built this model to swap directly onto any rifle previously running their T.R.I.M. rail system, preserving the same fit and geometry.
