Description

Wilson Combat built this matched billet receiver set for shooters who want a purpose-engineered foundation rather than a mil-spec baseline. Both the upper and lower are CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, which provides a higher strength-to-weight ratio than the 6061 alloy used in some commercial receivers and allows tighter dimensional control during the machining process. The result is a receiver pair that fits together with less slop than a forged set typically exhibits, reducing the wobble that can shift point of impact when a rifle heats up under sustained fire.

The lower receiver’s oversized magazine well is cut using EDM machining rather than conventional milling, which produces a cleaner, more consistent opening. That matters in a reload under pressure, where a slightly wider funnel mouth guides a fresh magazine in without requiring the shooter to look down or finesse the angle. The bolt catch is retained by a hex screw rather than a roll pin, making disassembly and replacement straightforward without the risk of damaging the receiver.

The upper receiver uses M4-style extended feed ramps machined directly into the barrel extension seat, which supports reliable feeding across a wide range of cartridge profiles — useful on a multi-caliber platform where the upper may be paired with different barrel assemblies over its service life. The Picatinny rail section is integral to the upper rather than attached, keeping the optic mounting surface in a fixed relationship to the bore. Wilson Combat’s Armor-Tuff finish is applied over the anodized aluminum and is formulated specifically for firearms, offering corrosion and abrasion resistance with a non-reflective surface. Because this set includes a serialized lower receiver, it transfers through a licensed FFL dealer.
