Description
The Mini Phantom Q.D. Muzzle Brake is built for shooters running a 9mm carbine or pistol-caliber platform who want a compact, functional muzzle device that works equally well with or without a suppressor attached. At 1.6 inches long, it keeps overall barrel length growth modest — a real consideration on shorter builds where every inch matters — while still doing genuine recoil and muzzle-rise work unsuppressed.
The brake is machined from 4140 steel and finished in Black Oxide, both choices that prioritize durability over cosmetics. 4140 is a chrome-molybdenum alloy with enough toughness to handle the repeated heat and mechanical stress of suppressor attachment cycles without the dimensional creep you can get from softer materials. Black Oxide adds a degree of corrosion resistance without adding meaningful thickness, so the fit with a suppressor mount stays consistent.
The Q.D. designation means this brake is designed as a mounting point for compatible Yankee Hill Machine fast-attach suppressors. The brake locks the suppressor into a repeatable position, which matters for point-of-impact consistency between suppressed and unsuppressed fire. A shim set is included to allow proper barrel timing during installation — getting the ports oriented correctly so the brake actually functions as intended rather than fighting the direction of muzzle movement. Installation torque is specified at 20 to 30 foot-pounds. The 5/8″-24 thread pitch on this variant suits the most common thread standard found on 9mm carbine barrels.
