Threading M14x1 left-hand puts it squarely at home on AK-pattern barrels, and that left-hand convention is why this specific variant exists — standard right-hand devices simply won’t seat correctly on those muzzles, so the thread direction is a functional requirement, not a preference.

The quick-detach fitting is the core of the design.
