Description

The YHM sRx Muzzle Brake is the host-side component of Yankee Hill Machine’s sRx suppressor mounting system, built for shooters who want a clean, snag-free profile without sacrificing repeatability or gas management. The system’s core engineering decision is the internal taper seal positioned ahead of the threads. When the suppressor is seated, that taper locks it in place and closes off the thread area from propellant gas and carbon, so the threads stay clean over extended use and the suppressor comes off without the galling or stuck-mount problems that thread exposure can cause.

Because the taper does the indexing work, there is no shimming or clocking required. The brake threads onto the barrel, torqued to between 20 and 30 ft-lbs, and the suppressor’s seating angle is determined by the taper geometry rather than by careful orientation of the host device. That geometry also provides consistent suppressor alignment shot to shot without any locking levers or detents moving under fire. The result is a quick-detach interface with no moving parts to wear, bind, or lose in the field.

Machined from 4140 steel with a Black Phosphate finish, the brake is built to handle the gas pressures and heat cycles of the rifles it’s meant for. The 1/2″-28 thread pitch fits standard AR-platform barrels chambered in .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO. The sRx Muzzle Brake must be paired with the YHM sRx Adapter (YHM-4400), which carries the industry-standard 1.375×24 HUB interface that connects to compatible YHM suppressors. The brake itself contributes minimal added length and mass to the overall suppressor package — a deliberate trade-off that keeps the host rifle’s balance and handling close to its unsuppressed baseline.
