Description

Yankee Hill Machine’s YHM-3410-B is a steel thread protector built for .22 and 5.56 rifles with 1/2×28 muzzle threads — the standard pitch found on the vast majority of AR-platform and rimfire barrels in those calibers. Its purpose is straightforward: bare muzzle threads are exposed metal, and even moderate handling, storage, or holstering can nick or corrode them to the point where a suppressor or muzzle device won’t seat cleanly. A damaged thread can cause a muzzle device to run off-center, which creates accuracy and safety problems that are entirely avoidable with a few dollars of steel sitting in place when nothing else is attached.

The .920 outer diameter is sized to clear bull barrels commonly found on rimfire rifles and heavier-profiled AR barrels, so you’re not forced to look for a narrow-profile alternative when running a thicker contour. The matte black finish keeps it from adding a reflective point to the muzzle end and provides a degree of corrosion resistance for barrels that see outdoor use in variable weather. Installation and removal are straightforward — thread it on when your muzzle device comes off, thread it off when the device goes back on.
