The R9 is built for shooters who run pistol-caliber carbines, subguns, or short-barreled rifles at high round counts and need a suppressor that can keep pace without becoming a single-purpose tool. Its primary design focus is 9mm — specifically the kind of sustained fire you get from a submachine gun or a PCC — but the construction handles additional calibers including .300 Blackout, .308 Winchester, 5.56 NATO, 6.5 Grendel, and 350 Legend, each with their own minimum barrel requirements. That range means one suppressor can move between different hosts in your safe rather than sitting dedicated to a single firearm.

The tube and baffles are machined from heat-treated 17-4 PH stainless steel, a grade selected for its ability to maintain structural integrity under the thermal cycling that comes with full-auto-rated use. The finish is Matte Black Cerakote, which resists corrosion and heat discoloration better than bare metal. The suppressor ships with a 1/2″-28 direct thread HUB adapter, which slots into YHM’s broader HUB mounting ecosystem — meaning you can add QD or 3-lug adapters later without replacing the can itself.
