Description
The SureFire SOCOM762-RC2 in Dark Earth is built for serious use on 7.62 mm rifles, including those chambered for high-intensity magnum cartridges like .300 Winchester Magnum—a range of hosts that demands materials and construction tolerances well beyond what standard rifle calibers require. SureFire responded with a body machined from high-temperature Inconel alloys and stainless steel, joined by CNC laser welding rather than conventional fastening methods, which keeps the structure intact under the sustained heat generated by full-auto fire and magnum-pressure rounds.
The internal venting system is central to how this suppressor behaves on a host weapon. Rather than simply trapping and slowing gas, the baffle geometry actively redirects back pressure, which lowers the cyclic rate on semi- and full-auto platforms and reduces the volume of hot gas returning to the shooter’s face. That engineering choice also has a measurable effect on operating temperatures inside the action, which matters for reliability under sustained fire.
Mounting follows SureFire’s Fast-Attach design with a tool-less lock ring indexed to engage in a low carbon-buildup area of the muzzle device. The practical consequence is that the suppressor can be removed after extended shooting without the heat-seized resistance common to direct-thread designs, and re-attachment produces consistent point-of-impact repeatability across multiple mounting cycles. SureFire guarantees sub-MOA impact shift on every unit.
The finish on this Dark Earth variant combines a Cerakote ceramic coating on the suppressor body with an Ionbond DLC coating on the Fast-Attach lock ring—materials chosen for corrosion resistance and durability rather than appearance. Compatible SureFire muzzle adapters are required and sold separately.
