Description
The GBRS Group Lerna Mount Kit is built for shooters who run gear-heavy setups and need their optic positioned where the shooter’s head naturally wants to be, rather than where a standard-height mount places it. The core idea behind the Lerna is a 2.91-inch optic centerline, which raises the sight line enough that a shooter wearing a communications headset, CBRN gas mask, or night vision system does not have to drop their head awkwardly to find the glass. The result is a more upright, neutral posture that keeps body armor squarely facing the threat and reduces the neck and shoulder strain that accumulates over a long day of work.
The mount body is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished to MIL-A-8625 Type 3 Class 2 hard coat anodize, the same specification used on military contract components. The clamp bar and screws are 17-4 PH stainless steel in H900 condition, treated with a Melonite QPQ finish for corrosion resistance and surface hardness. That choice of stainless over aluminum for the clamping hardware means the parts that bear torque load are significantly harder than the mount body they clamp to, which matters for long-term retention under recoil. This Aimpoint Micro T-2 variant is optimized for the Micro footprint and ships with the specific tooling — a long-reach T10 key, a long-reach 3/32-inch hex key, and a quarter-inch drive T25 bit — so installation does not require sourcing additional hardware. Manufactured in the USA and Berry compliant, the Lerna carries a GBRS Limited Lifetime Warranty.
