Description

The ADM4 is American Defense Manufacturing’s take on a purpose-built, duty-weight AR-15 — a rifle aimed at shooters who want a compact fighting carbine built to tighter standards than a typical mil-spec assembly. It occupies the space between a rack-grade carbine and a custom build, with ADM doing the integration work in-house rather than assembling from commodity parts.

The 14.5-inch barrel keeps overall length manageable for close-quarters work while retaining enough dwell time to run a reliable mid-length or carbine gas system. A shorter barrel does accelerate bolt velocity, which is the primary trade-off: felt impulse tends to be sharper than a 16-inch rifle running the same load, so ammunition selection and buffer weight matter more here than on a longer gun. The .223 Rem/5.56 NATO chamber handles both cartridge standards, giving the shooter flexibility to run either without worrying about pressure excursions in either direction.

The M-LOK handguard allows direct attachment of accessories without adding rail weight across the full length of the forend — useful when the rifle is already configured for a light or pressure switch and doesn’t need bulk where nothing is mounted. ADM’s quick-detach upper and lower interface, a feature the company built its reputation on, allows the upper to be separated and returned to zero without tools, which is a meaningful advantage for anyone running multiple uppers or needing to break the rifle down for transport. The 30-round magazine is included and the rifle ships ready to run.
