Description
The American Defense Manufacturing AD-DELTA is a cantilever scope mount built for flattop AR-15 platforms, and it works equally well on AR-10 and SCAR rifles. Its purpose is straightforward: push the optic forward to restore proper eye relief when a standard rail position puts the scope too close for a natural cheek weld. That two-inch offset is machined into the base rather than achieved by compounding separate components, which keeps the assembly rigid and eliminates the flex points that stacked adapters can introduce.
The rings and base are a single horizontally split unit, CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in Type III hardcoat anodize. Horizontal ring splits distribute clamping force evenly around the scope tube and avoid the alignment problems that can arise when ring halves are oriented at an angle to each other. The 1.70-inch optical centerline height positions the bore axis of a 30mm scope tube where AR shooters using standard stock geometry typically need it for a consistent cheek weld.
Retention is handled by American Defense’s patented Auto Lock QD lever, which can be set to lock either forward or rearward depending on what clears the rifle’s geometry. Adjusting clamping tension requires nothing more than a finger or a flat-blade screwdriver, and the system is designed to seat reliably on both in-spec and out-of-spec Picatinny rails — a practical consideration given that not every rail section holds to tight dimensional standards. At 8 ounces, the mount adds moderate weight for what it provides in stability and repeatability. Made in the USA.
