Description
The AD-Recon M is a cantilever scope mount built for shooters who need to run a 30mm riflescope on a flat-top AR-15 without sacrificing eye relief. The cantilever offset throws the optic forward so you can achieve proper cheek weld and eye position without compromising scope placement on the rail — a genuine functional concern on shorter AR uppers where receiver geometry eats into usable rail space forward of the ejection port.
The mount is CNC machined from a solid block of 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in a hard coat Type III Mil-Spec anodize. That finish is not decorative — Type III hard coat is denser and more abrasion-resistant than standard Type II anodize, which matters on a mount that gets handled, cased, and uncased repeatedly over its service life.
Retention is handled by American Defense’s patented QD Auto Lock lever system. The design is fully adjustable to grip both in-spec and out-of-spec Picatinny rails without additional tools — a flat-blade screwdriver or your thumb handles any tension tuning. The lever itself can be oriented to lock toward the front or the rear of the receiver depending on your preference and how your other controls are arranged. The mount is compatible with objective housings up to 56mm, so there is room to run larger glass without risking contact between the objective bell and the upper receiver. American Defense backs this mount with a lifetime warranty and it is manufactured in the United States.
