Description
The AD-Scout-S is American Defense Manufacturing’s single-lever quick-detach scope mount built around a 30mm ring diameter. It’s aimed at shooters who remove optics frequently—whether for transport, transition to iron sights, or sharing a rifle between configurations—and who need the optic to return to zero reliably after remounting. A mount that loses point of impact when it comes off is a liability; the ADM approach addresses that through their patented QD Auto Lock System, which is designed to maintain consistent clamping force and repeatable positioning each time the lever is engaged.
The single-lever design means one action secures or releases the entire mount to a Picatinny rail, which is faster to operate than traditional screw-ring systems and leaves fewer loose parts in the field. Vertical split rings hold the 30mm tube without the rotational stress that horizontal-split designs can introduce, which matters when you’re torquing a ring down and want even pressure around the scope body. ADM manufactures this mount in New Berlin, Wisconsin, and the construction reflects that: it’s not a budget import re-branded for the market.
This is a straightforward tool for a specific job. If your scope stays on one rifle indefinitely and you never remove it, a simpler mount may suit you just as well. But if your setup calls for a mount you can pull, hand off, or reinstall under pressure and trust the zero afterward, the AD-Scout-S is built around exactly that requirement.
