Description
The SAM7R is Arsenal’s answer to a straightforward question: what does a milled-receiver AK look like when it’s built to a genuine military standard rather than approximated from stamped sheet steel? The answer starts in Bulgaria, where Arsenal Co. hammer-forges each receiver blank under a five-ton press using hot-die tooling. That process refines the grain structure of the steel and eliminates the internal voids that develop when metal cools unevenly in a conventional cast or stamped process. Each blank then goes through more than five and a half hours of CNC milling before it becomes a finished receiver. The result is heavier than a stamped gun and more rigid — a trade-off that pays dividends in long-term dimensional stability and a distinctly different feel in the hand.
The barrel is chrome-lined and hammer-forged, which keeps bore dimensions consistent across the length of the tube and gives the surface hardness needed to resist both heat and corrosion over a long service life. The 14x1mm left-hand threaded muzzle is fitted with Arsenal’s AK-351 muzzle brake, which is removable if you want to mount something else. The trigger group is the FIME Group FM-922EUS Enhanced FCG — a single-hook design with an elongated disconnector tail engineered to eliminate the brief pre-travel slop common to standard AK trigger geometry, producing a shorter and more consistent pull without altering the fundamental lockwork.
The furniture is black polymer with an intermediate-length buttstock that includes a trapdoor compartment sized for the included cleaning kit. A scope rail is mounted to the left side of the receiver, which is the correct position for AK-pattern optic mounting and keeps the dust cover undisturbed. The rifle ships with a ten-round magazine, sling, oil bottle, and cleaning kit.
