Description
The B5 Systems Type 22 P-Grip is built for AR-15 and AR-10 shooters who want a more vertical grip angle than a traditional A2 or swept pistol grip provides. That steeper angle shifts the wrist into a straighter, less canted position, which tends to make trigger reach more consistent and reduces the wrist rotation required to drive the rifle—particularly noticeable during extended range sessions or when shooting from unconventional positions like prone.
The defining design decision here is the absence of a conventional backstrap. Removing it lets the shooting hand ride higher on the grip, which tightens the distance between palm and bore axis. A higher hand position generally improves muzzle control by shortening the mechanical lever that recoil acts on, and it also moves the thumb closer to ambidextrous controls without requiring the shooter to shift grip. The front strap and grip body carry an aggressive texture that holds through wet or gloved hands without being abrasive during dry handling.
Construction is mil-spec polymer, and the grip ships with the standard screw for direct installation on any mil-spec AR lower. The hollow interior accepts the B5 Systems Battery Grip Plug, sold separately, which turns the dead space into storage for a spare battery or small items. This variant is finished in MultiCam Black—a pattern that blends B5’s multicam substrate with black-toned elements rather than a solid color coat. At under two ounces, it adds no meaningful weight to the platform. Made in the USA.
