The BCM A/T Optic Riser 525-13 is built for shooters who run layered optic systems — a red dot paired with a magnifier, or an optic alongside night vision or thermal — and need a stable, low-snag platform that doesn’t compromise how the rail is used. Rather than stacking a conventional riser under a single optic, this riser spans the full length of an AR-15 upper receiver, which means the entire rail surface remains accessible for Mil-Std 1913 attachments at any point along the stalk. That matters when placement of a magnifier or secondary device relative to the primary optic needs fine-tuning rather than being locked into a fixed position.
The 0.525-inch height increase is the core of what this riser does. Shooters running lower one-third co-witness optics land at roughly 2.16 inches of height above bore, while absolute co-witness optics come up to approximately 1.93 inches. That elevated sight line is what makes shooting from behind a gas mask, ballistic eyewear, or night vision headgear practical rather than awkward — the natural cheek weld doesn’t fight the equipment.
BCM’s A/T (Angled Torque) clamping system uses a patented angled interface that applies triangulating force to the rail rather than the traditional horizontal clamp geometry. BCM states this produces approximately twice the clamping force at equivalent torque, which translates directly to zero retention under recoil. The 13-slot body carries 14 integral recoil lugs machined into it, distributing those forces rather than relying solely on the clamp. The riser body itself is machined from aircraft aluminum alloy and hard coat anodized to Mil-A-8625F. The steel clamp is hardened with a Nitride finish for corrosion and wear resistance.
