Description

The American Defense Mfg. AD-B2 is a cantilever quick-detach mount built specifically for Mini ACOG and similar compact prism optics — it solves a real problem that comes up the moment you try to run one of these optics on a standard flat-top rifle. Mount a Mini ACOG in a conventional position and the eye relief puts your face too far forward, or you lose access to your rear iron sight entirely. The AD-B2 addresses both issues at once: its cantilever geometry shifts the optic rearward by three-quarters of an inch, moving the glass closer to the shooter’s eye without requiring the rear iron to come off the rail.

The 2.33-inch centerline height is the defining characteristic of the NV variant. That height clears night vision equipment staged in front of the optic, making this the appropriate choice if you’re running a NOD or a clip-on device ahead of the prism. Shooters who don’t need that clearance should look at the lower-height AD-B2 variants instead, since excess height adds unnecessary cant and stretches the distance between your cheek and the stock.

The QD lever system is tool-free and adjustable, and American Defense designed it to lock with the lever oriented either forward or rearward depending on your preference. Critically, the mount is engineered to return to zero when remounted to the same rail position — which is what separates a genuine quick-detach system from a simple throw-lever. The body is precision-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in a MIL-SPEC hardcoat anodize that holds up to field use without adding meaningful weight. The whole mount comes in at two ounces.
