Description

The BCM Mod 4 is a purpose-built upgrade for AR-pattern rifles aimed at shooters who have moved away from the bladed, elbow-out stances that the original A1 and A2 grip geometry was designed around. Modern square-on fighting and competition stances put the wrist in a different relationship to the bore, and the Mod 4’s reduced grip angle accommodates that geometry directly — keeping the trigger finger more naturally aligned with the trigger without forcing the wrist into a canted position.

Where the original A2 grip relies on relatively coarse vertical ribbing, the Mod 4 uses an aggressive, tactile texture across the grip body that maintains purchase under wet or gloved hands without requiring a death grip to stay indexed. The extended forward tang closes the gap between the pistol grip and the trigger guard, which eliminates the ledge that can catch a firing-hand thumb during rapid manipulation or a support-hand push grip. The high-rise beavertail fills the web of the hand more completely, distributing recoil impulse across a broader surface and helping maintain grip position across a string of fire. The open-bottom construction keeps weight down without compromising structural integrity. Hardware for mil-spec AR-pattern lowers is included, so installation requires no additional parts.
