Description
The Hoppe’s BoreSnake Den kit gives you a fast, self-contained bore cleaning solution built around the one-pass BoreSnake design. Rather than running a rod, patches, and a brush through the bore in separate steps, the BoreSnake combines a bronze bristle section with an absorbent floss tail so that a single pull both scrubs and swabs the bore in one motion. The Den is a compact plastic housing that stores and dispenses the snake in a controlled way, keeping it untangled and free of debris between uses — practical for a range bag where loose gear accumulates quickly.
This version is sized for .38 and .357 caliber bores, covering the full bore diameter range of .357 to .359 inches. That means it works correctly across revolvers and semi-automatics chambered in those cartridges without fitting too loosely to scrub or too tightly to pull through without effort. The bronze bristles are sized to maintain contact with the lands and grooves at that diameter, which is where carbon and copper fouling accumulate most.
Because the cleaning action happens in a single pull rather than multiple rod strokes, there is less opportunity to introduce debris from outside the bore back into it during the process. The Den housing keeps the snake coiled and contained when not in use, so the floss section stays clean between sessions. This is a maintenance tool suited to regular field use rather than deep-cleaning after extended neglect — for routine after-range cleaning it covers the bore quickly and without the setup time that a rod kit requires.
