Description
The Burn Proof Gear Suppressor Cover Heavy is built for shooters who run their suppressor hard — sustained fire, rapid strings, and high round counts where heat buildup becomes a genuine hazard. At 8 inches long and sized for a 1.5-inch diameter suppressor, it wraps the can closely enough that the overall profile stays manageable while still providing meaningful thermal protection. The “no-slip fit” design is intentional: a cover that shifts or rotates under use defeats its purpose, and BPG engineered this one to stay put.
Construction follows a two-part approach. The outer cover pairs with an inner fire-retardant sleeving that contacts the suppressor directly. Because the sleeving takes the most punishment, it can be replaced independently when it wears — extending the life of the cover itself and keeping replacement costs lower than swapping the whole assembly. All materials are fully flame-resistant and made in the USA.
The practical benefits run in a few directions at once. Direct contact burns to hands, legs, and gear are the obvious concern, but the cover also collapses heat mirage that would otherwise distort a sight picture during extended precision work. For shooters operating in low-light or night conditions, it also reduces the infrared signature the suppressor would otherwise radiate. BPG rates this heavy variant for full-auto use up to 1,000°F, which reflects the heavier material construction compared to their standard-weight covers. The cover ships in Black and carries a lifetime guarantee from the manufacturer.
