Description
The B&T Stille is a suppressor built around the demands of precision rifle shooting and hunting, where weight, durability, and consistent sound reduction all matter in equal measure. It is designed primarily with bolt-action rifles in mind, though it is capable on compatible gas-operated platforms as well — a distinction worth understanding, since the gas cycling of a semi-automatic introduces additional back-pressure into the suppressor that a bolt gun simply does not generate, making bolt-action use the cleanest operating environment for any suppressor of this type.
The body is constructed from 3D-printed titanium, a manufacturing method that allows internal geometry to be optimized in ways conventional machining cannot achieve while keeping overall weight low — a meaningful consideration on a precision rifle that may already carry a heavy barrel and optic. Where titanium alone would be vulnerable to the intense erosive forces at the muzzle end, B&T uses an Inconel 718 blast insert and blast baffle at the point of highest pressure and heat. Inconel 718 is a nickel-chromium superalloy chosen specifically for its resistance to oxidation and mechanical degradation at elevated temperatures, so those components extend service life without adding unnecessary mass throughout the rest of the can.
The direct-thread mount ships with the suppressor, threading onto a 5/8×24 muzzle. That is a straightforward, low-profile attachment method that eliminates any indexing hardware and keeps the overall assembly as short and rigid as possible — advantages that matter when repeatability of point of impact after suppressor removal is a priority. The Stille is rated for .338 caliber, which also means it handles the full range of smaller bore cartridges that would pass through the same bore diameter.
