Description
The Bushnell AR Optics 1-4×24 with BTR-1 reticle is built for AR-platform rifles used at close to medium range — the kind of shooting where a shooter needs true 1x at the low end for fast target acquisition, then the ability to reach out past 100 yards without transitioning to a separate optic. That magnification range makes it a practical choice for 3-Gun competition, patrol carbines, or general-purpose range and field use.
The BTR-1 reticle sits on the first focal plane, which means the reticle subtensions remain proportionally accurate at every magnification setting. At 4x, holdover marks and ranging references read correctly without any mental correction — a meaningful advantage over second focal plane designs, where subtension values are only accurate at the top magnification setting. That distinction matters when a shooter needs to estimate range or apply a wind hold at a magnification other than maximum.
The scope runs on a single CR2032 battery for reticle illumination, making field replacement straightforward since that cell is available nearly anywhere. The 30mm main tube provides additional internal adjustment travel compared to a 1-inch tube, giving the turrets more usable range for zeroing across a wider variety of mounting heights and rail configurations. Exposed turrets allow on-the-fly adjustments without removing a cap, which suits any shooting scenario that demands quick corrections between stages or positions.
Construction carries an IPX7 water-resistance rating, meaning the optic can handle full submersion up to one meter for up to 30 minutes without losing function — a practical threshold for field use in wet conditions. The Bushnell Lifetime Ironclad Warranty covers the optic without registration and transfers with the scope if it changes hands.
